5 Things I Like About Myself

Our primary relationship in life is with our selves. No one else goes through every experience in life with us. We are our one permanent companion, yet we are often our worst critic. To remind ourselves of our magnificence, we can do this exercise: “5 Things I Like About Myself.”

Begin by writing down at least five things that you like about yourself. This is not the time to be modest. If you are having trouble coming up with a total of five items, you know that this exercise can really benefit you. Be sure to include more than your physical attributes on your list, since our bodies are only part of who we are. If you are still struggling with what to include on your list, think of what you like about your favorite people, because these traits are probably qualities that you possess too. Another way to complete your list is to think of five things you don’t like about yourself and find something about these traits that you can like.

Continue this process for a week, thinking of five new things you like about yourself everyday. At the end of the week, read the list aloud to yourself while standing in front of a mirror. Instead of looking for flaws to fix, allow the mirror to reflect your magnificence. You may feel silly about standing in front of a mirror and reading aloud a list of your admirable attributes, but it might just bring a smile to your face and change the way you see yourself. Remember, it is when you feel the most resistant that this exercise can benefit you the most. Because we are constantly looking at the world, instead of looking at ourselves, we don’t often see what’s magnificent about ourselves that others do. When we take the time to experience ourselves the way we would experience someone we love and admire, we become our best companion and supporter on life’s journey.

7 Habits of Successful & Happy People

Being Successful and Happy is a choice, it is not a matter of chance.

It is up to you to take action in your life and do the work necessary to create the life you want.
You become more conscious, in the now, aware of what you are thinking, feeling, doing, and your surroundings.
Becoming more conscious helps you see if you are on track or not to creating what you desire instead of what you don’t want which creats unhappiness and low self esteem.
It isn’t like you have to be constantly checking yourself all the time, just when you are not feeling what you would like to feel.

Apply the following 7 Habits of Successful & Happy People:

1. They know what they desire and why they desire it.
Successful and happy people set time aside to clarify what it is that they want to have, be and do in their life.
Doing this tells your energy where to flow.
It is like planting a seed.
You tell the energy where to go by what you are thinking.
What you put your attention on grows.
Your thoughts are like magnets that are attracting and matching energy to you.
If your outcome and focus are clear about what you desire you will create what you want in your life.
Stating your desires and thinking thoughts about what you want creates a vibration in your body that is released out into the world and attacts those things to you.
You are always manifesting whether you know it or not.
You may just be manifesting what you don’t want because that is where you attention is most of the time.
They reevaluate their desires and design new ones all the time as they get results.

2. They visualize what they desire.
What you put your attention on expands and the mind doesn’t know the difference between reality and make believe.
Successful and happy people give desires power to manifest by connecting with them energeticly through visualization; creating them in the mind as though they were real.  Fake it till you make it!
Emotions are the charge.
Their physical body feels the visualization as if it is real to them creating the vibration that will attract it.
Example: Feeling their hands around the steering wheel and smelling the that new car smell with the emotion of excitement/joy/glee…as they drive around town showing their friends.
They think about what they are creating every day, multiple times.
They feel the energy of having manifested their desires without being attached to the outcome.
They are not attached to how it will show up or how they will get it they just keep seeing it, feeling it, and taking actions that move them towards their desire.

3. They believe in themselves and their ability to manifest what they want.
Successful and happy people work on themselves, they are constantly learning and growing and have faith.
They are clear about their strengths, talents and what makes them unique and they build on those rather than focus on their weakness.
They are willing to take risks and fail.
They learn from their mistakes, know their strengths and limitations, hire people to do what they are not good at.
They understand the laws of attraction and know that they are manifesting all the time. They choose to manifest what they desire building on past experience and have strong faith.
They like themselves, appreciate their life and all that is around them and love to create.

4. They take responsibility for their actions.
Successful and happy people believe that they are the creators of the world they experience.
They believe they are constantly manifesting their world by what they are thinking and feeling about their world.
They can only respond to what they are creating and react on results by what comes back to them.
They are responsible for their perception, so how could anyone else be responsible for their actions.
They do what they love and love what they do.

5. They take actions
Successful and happy people are always taking action to move towards their desires.
It is from their actions that they can gather information and determine their next coarse of action.
A sailor sets in one direction to reach his desired port. Because of varying winds and currents he must always be resetting his course until he reaches his destination. He can not know for sure what the course is before hand because all the variables of the future are not available. It is in the NOW that the right course is determined with all the information at hand.
One of the most important actions successful and happy people take is to grow themselves.
They are constantly working on themselves…because the better they become the better their world becomes.

6. They build powerful partnerships
Successful and happy people know that you can not be successful on your own.
Building powerful relationships with others to support you on your life journey is a must.
These people can be a coaches, mentors, family members, a mastermind groups, peers, a company, and friends.
Positive relationships are important.
Positive Relationships add to your life, not take away!
Surround yourself with like minded positive people.
Remember your energy is like a magnet and you are attracting what you are vibrating.
If your desire is happiness, get happy now.
Surround yourself with people who are where you want to be so you can experience what they think and feel about their world.
You have got to Change the thinking that got you to where you are NOW to get you to where you want to go.

You can create joint ventures or alliances with others who share a passion for what you both desire and can help each other get there quicker and easier than on your own.
These can be sponsors, investors, complementary business, silent partner who helps with funding…etc.
By partnering you create more possibilities than you ever imagined.

7. They focus on honoring thier values (who you are)
Successful and happy people focus what is important in their life, what gives their life meaning and relevance.
Values are an inner framework of how you make choices.
They are the what lights you up from within; your deepest motivatiors.
When you pay attention to your values, what makes you tick you are fueling yourself.
Feeling yourself full means your needs are being meet, which allows you more to give.
Examples of values are: Learning, Mastery, Joy, Achievement ,Beauty, Nature, Authenticity, Connecting, Romance, Freedom, Self Expression, Service….

If you don’t feel in a positive state of being check out what you are thinking and feeling about what you are doing, being or having at that time.
And then CHOOSE (Get clear about what you desire) what you want and take action to make it happen so that you create for yourself success and happiness.

And really get; No one else can do that for you!
You alone are responsible for your success and happiness.

If you would like a Values Clarification sheet  to determine you values please email me and I will send you one. coachmarilyn@Yahoo.com

Let me know how this works for you!

Infinite Blessings, Marilyn

Thomas Moore In a Life at Work

Thomas Moore in his book A Life at Work: The Joy of Discovering What You Were Born to Do defines a calling as a deep sense that your very being is implicated in what you do.  “You feel that you fit into the scheme of things when you do this particular work.  You have a sense of purpose and completion in the work. It defines you and gives you an essential tranquillity. The work that provides such a deep reward may change over time and you may go through several periods in your life defined by a different work.  Toward the end of your life you may see all the jobs you have done as fateful, composing your life work and answering your calling”

It is your duty to respond to your calling. Your soul wants to expand and express itself.

Each of us is a piece of a universal puzzle to which our work is greatly needed.

If we each stepped forward honoring that calling when it is revealed; not letting our fears, doubt or others keep us from taking action we would be happier and healthier.

You can not be successful without releasing your creative genius. That creative genius is different for everyone!

Start thinking about what you want to do.

What gets you excited?

What are you passionate about?

What gets you really angry and makes you want to do something?

What would you do for free if you didn’t have to worry about money?

Search for those answers and start taking steps towards them.

Let me know what you come up with, I would love to know and so would others!

6 Ways to Clear Contrary Beliefs Enhancing Your Ability to Attract What You Want

Have you ever had a day where
gravity just isn’t working for you?

Where you can’t keep your feet planted
on the ground and you’re floating
around in space?
Of course not, because gravity is a LAW.
It doesn’t work on some days and not on other days.
It’s always working, and you are experiencing the
effects of it all the time.

The Law of Attraction is a LAW.
It is a powerful force that is constantly
operating whether you are aware of it or not.

You aren’t mindful of the Law working in your life,
any more than you are consciously thinking about the Law of Gravity.
When you spill a glass of water,
you don’t say, “ That darn Law of Gravity!”,
even though it was gravity at work.
The Law of Attraction works in the same mysterious way in your life.
Therefore, if that is true it means that what you have right now (or don’t
have right now) is exactly what you want;
the abundance and the debt,
the joy and the suffering.
What you want and what you don’t want, you are attracting it all.
Why? Because your conscious thoughts aren’t all there is to your life!
Beneath the surface of your thoughts is a complex collection of beliefs
that are exerting an extremely powerful magnetic force in your life.
These beliefs become habits which influence your actions.

When these subconscious thoughts align
with what you consciously intend, you attract it.
However, if there are thoughts and beliefs that
run contrary to your conscious desires you
will not attract them, no matter how much you want them consciously.
Even if you do achieve them temporarily, you will ultimately lose them.
The strength of your unconscious beliefs and thoughts will ultimately win out.

This is no cause for beating up on yourself or even feeling as if you have failed
as most are not aware of unconscious beliefs at work underminding your very wishes.

I hear how confused and frustrated people are about the Law of Attraction
because they believe it works sometimes and not other times.
The fact is it is working all the time.
You think it’s not working when it attracts to you what you don’t want.
If your attention is on what you don’t want happening it attracts that.

Are you getting bits and pieces of what you want, but not
all of your desires?
Do you feel like the Law of Attraction “works”
for you only sometimes?
Are there things you want in your life that you don’t really
believe you can have or deserve?
Do you want get rid of the obstacles and attract
whatever it is you’re trying to achieve?
Or have you already experienced the incredible power
of the Law of Attraction, and are ready to
take it to a whole new level?

Here are 6 ways to clear contrary beliefs, enhancing your ability to attract your conscious wants?

1) Witness your thinking.
What do you spend your time thinking about?
Is it positive thinking and beliefs about what you want?
Or are you focused on the things you don’t want showing up in your life?
Doubts, fears, worries, other people …..

If you are having trouble catching your thoughts, pay attention to your moods and/or feelings:
feeling good or bad, expanded or contracted, excited or bored, anxious or calm, worried or positive?
Ask yourself, “What am I believing to feel the way I do
and what do I have to think to believe in what I want?”

2) Be Clear about what it is you want to attract to you.
You are telling the universe what you want to attract to you by
what you think and focus on.
If you are not clear about your desires you will get fuzzy results.
Write down in detail as much as possible about what you want or
about the feeling you want with the outcome.
It is the outcome that you want to pay attention to, not how you are getting there.

3) Visualize, with high energy feelings (love, excitement), the
outcome you want consistantly everyday, with no attachment to
the outcome, for 26-32 days without skipping a day.
You are planting seeds (intentions), focusing on what you want to create in your life.
Compare it to tending to a garden.
You plant the seed (what you want), then you water it, give it sunlight,
weed around it, and fertilize it (focus or attention).
then you need to trust that your “seed” is doing it’s job growing, (no tension).
Keep weeding (negative philosophy/old beliefs/thinking that doesn’t server you).

There is a time to plant, tend and harvest.
Be patient and trust the process…they don’t happen on the same day.
Keep planting seeds and nourishing them with your attention and focus.

3) Be grateful for what you have at this time.
Be aware of the richness of your life already.
Wanting begets more wanting.
The more you appreciate the what you already have in your life the more
whatever you desire will come forth through that moment of gratitude.
The trick is to be happy now and more happiness will follow.
Be grateful/happy for this moment while playfully desiring more.

If your happiness depends on you getting what you want, then you are
living in fear of not having it and therefore subconsciously thinking about what you
don’t want, negating what you are trying to accomplish.

4) Let go of the thoughts that are not benefiting you.
Stop the habital thinking that gets you what you don’t want.
Fear, doubt, procrastination… A positive attitude is a must!
When you remove the negitive thinking and beliefs, you change the way
you see your world and subsequently the events in your life will bring different resuts.

If you are a worrier( praying for what you don’t want), switch to
praying for what you do want.
I know it isn’t easy…you have to break the habit and be consistent and persistent!

Sometimes this is the hardest thing to do because to let go means
you must be responsible for your life and you cannot be a victim.

Some people get attention by creating what they don’t want in their life.
Negative attention is better than no attention at all.
It may feel uncomfortable doing something new.
Uncomfortable means you are growing, stretching and doing something you are not familiar with.

5) Change your beliefs. Reframe from thinking old habits.
Ask your self whether what you are believing is true or not.
Whose belief is it? Mom/Dad, religious, cultural, media, peer, political…
Let go of other’s opinions and consider whether they have your best interest in mind,
what is their experience on the subject, do they truly understand your desires?

Create new beliefs that are a positive expression of who you are
with a Life Coach, therapist, hypnotherapist, or on your own with
The Work (Bryan Katie), Option (Bruce Di Marsico), using vision boards, audio and
affirmations (done properly) and more.

6) Love yourself…forgive yourself, stop judging and comparing yourself.
You have to be willing to receive and know you are worth whatever it is you want.
Be in the moment of now, loving who you are now, not a memory of who you were.
Every moment you are creating your life for yourself. Create it with Love!

Ask yourself everyday,
“How good can I stand my life to Be if I really love myself?”,
do it often until look yourself in the mirror and love what you see.

Endless Blessing

Big Passions

”It must be borne in mind that the tragedy of life doesn’t lie in
not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach.
It isn’t a calamity to die with dreams unfulfilled, but it is a
calamity not to dream. It is not a disaster to be unable to capture
your ideal, but it is a disaster to have no ideal to capture. It is
not a disgrace not to reach the stars, but it is a disgrace to have no
stars to reach for. Not failure, but low aim is a sin.”

Who Are We?

Who we are shapes our destiny.
Our positive or negative beliefs impact every aspect of our life.
Our beliefs act as filters on a camera, changing how we see the world.
We can choose how we want to see by learning to harness our mind promoting a healthy and fulfilling life.

What we do is based on our identity. Those elements we use to describe ourselves with conviction are our identity, whether they are true or not. We identify with emotions, roles, job/career, metaphors, feed back from past, spirituality, looks, accomplishments, what you are not, the past (not good enough, popular, addict, smart, sexy, fat, loveable, unlovable, confident, smoker, extravert, creative, weak, don’t know enough, unhealthy, over the hill, angry, funny, victim…)
The biggest problem with most people is we are not conscious of the beliefs that are designing  our identities.

One of our strongest needs within our personality is to make certain that our behavior is consistent with our identity, even if the identity we hold for our self is negative.
That is why we do something even when we know it isn’t good for us like smoking. We see ourselves as a smoker. If we see ourselves as a smoker we must smoke! And we look for ways to make that happen whether we are conscious of it or not.
The more we give attention to our beliefs, the stronger the neural connection in the brain. It then literally becomes our inner reality and that influences our outer reality. We have to consciously change our inner reality to make our outer reality what we want.
Change how you see yourself and you change your world. Where to start:
{      Take on a new level of thinking: consciousness instead of unconsciousness
{      Change your attitude from negative to positive: put attention on what you want not what you don’t want
{      Consciously identify yourself to the behavior you want to change
{      Expand your vision of yourself, step outside your comfort zone (what you already know).
{      Be careful what you buy into: labels, judging, expectations
{      Realize: We are not our thoughts; we are the thinker not the thought
{      Believe: I get to determine who I am; I am responsible for my life; There are many choices
{      Question limiting beliefs:
What do I believe about myself?
Whose belief is it? Parents, Society, Religious…
Is that who I am or is that just how I am use to acting?
Am I my past or am I who I want to be now?

We are what we believe about all day long!

            Your beliefs become your thoughts
            Your thoughts become your words
            Your words become your actions
            Your actions become your habits
            Your habits become your values
            Your values become your destiny

SuperWomen Ask Yourself some Super Quesions

Have you ever found yourself mad at yourself because you are overwelmed and stressed about your work and life? Feeling like there is so much to do and not enough time and it is all your fault because you can’t do it all.  And instead of having compassion for yourself you shame yourself for not being able to handle everything.

Your inner critic starts talking to you like you are a failure, a slouch, weak, lazy, don’t know enough, aren’t good enough, who do you think you are to think you could do it in the first place, your letting everyone down, what are _______ going to think?, etc…

We have somehow come to believe that we “should” be able to have it all, do it all, be everything to everyone and always be happy all at the same time! If we can’t something is wrong with us.

With new technology like computers, cell phones and  faxes…the time it takes to do things have speeded up. If we can do processes more quickly then we “should” be able to do more processes, so bring it on baby.

Who made up the rule we have to do more because we can?
Who made up the rule that we don’t complete our list for the day we are unsuccessful?
Who made up the rule that we have to multi task?
Who made up the rule that we have to get everything right the first time or we are a jerk, looser, or stupid?
Who made up the voice of the inner critic in our head?
What drives us to exhaustion and unhappiness?
Who are you living for? You or them?
What is your self worth? What rules determined your answer? Who was the judge?

Stop and think about what is driving you to think, believe and act the way you do?

What I am concerned about is how we feel about feelings that aren’t pretty or timely.  We believe we shouldn’t feel that way. The stress and suffering comes from thinking that things ”shouldn’t” be the way they “are.”

Feeling whatever you are feeling in that moment is exactly where your attention should be. You are receiving information/results that
you can now make new choices from to create a life you want.

When you find yourself feeling sad, overwhelmed, anxious, stressed…it is actually a great time for learning and growth. Don’t push it away….embrace it and go exploring.

ASK YOURSELF

What am I doing that I don’t want to be doing?

What am I feeling?

What am I believing that is making me feel this way?
(It is not the event, it is the meaning you put on the event that is making you feel the way you do)

What is the meaning you are giving the event?

Is your belief True? If yes, are you absolutely sure?

What can I learn from this feeling and belief(s) about myself?

How do I want to feel?

What do I need to believe about myself, my life, my world to feel that?
…I am capable, loveable, I live in a safe world, I can have peace of mind, I don’t need to solve everyones problems, I am powerful, I know enough, I am worth it….

What actions can I take that would be congurent with my new beliefs?
…say no, set boundaries. don’t engage the inner critic, stop worrying, let go of judgments, don’t gossip, practice meditation & yoga, forgive myself and others…..

What are these feelings communicating to you about yourself.

  • Are you doing something that your not passionate about, it doesn’t feed your soul and it is depleting you?
  • Are you a star trying to fit into a square shape? A big picture person doing detail work, a creative person doing routine…..?
  • Are you not living in your fullest expression of yourself, selling yourself short, giving your power away?
  • Are you living in fear of what you don’t want instead of what you do want? Worrier? Victim?
  • Are you living someone else dream? Are you doing what your parents thought you should do? Being a stay at mom when you really love being a business women?….
  • Are you a perfectionist, procrastinator,  critical,
  • Are you following made up rules about what it means to be a “Good mother, a good wife, a good lover, an excellent business owner, stellar community member” to get the valadation, reconition and love you need.

I have given you a lot to think about so let me know what you think and feel about being a SuperWomen!  What are the new rules and beliefs?
